Meta is the rebranding of Facebook Inc, taking it further into the world of the metaverse.
According to Zuckerberg, the metaverse is a virtual world where individuals can connect, attend meetings, acquire real estate, and much more. Metaverse is a virtual world where augmented reality becomes central to our engagement with other people.
In other words, the metaverse is the point at which the physical and digital worlds collide. It's a virtual world where people connect at work and play, meeting in their offices, attending concerts, and even putting on clothes (via bespoke avatars created by you).
The internet is currently in its 2D phase, where you interact with people by commenting on their postings or watching YouTube videos. Metaverse, on the other hand, takes it to the next level of the internet, allowing you to engage with others on a YouTube video or post rather than just commenting on them. Imagine how awesome it would be if it actually worked.

With the launch of Meta, Facebook is staying true to its aim of connecting people, but going a step further by providing immersive digital experiences, with the premise that connections may have the same level of realism as in the real world.
Internet connectivity and internet speed will be more important now than ever! Facebook has put a lot of money into developing this technology, and we all know that in order for it to work properly, we'll need a fast internet connection and more.
There is now no competition for this new technology. The sole idea of developing this technology is by Zuckerberg and it definitely would be a game-changer for the company and for the world.
The goal of the meta is to build connections and interactions with individuals that are as realistic as possible. Our physical gestures, body language, and even items can be transported to a virtual plane, allowing us to enjoy the same experiences as we would in real life.
Meta has developed 3 virtual locations till now. Horizon Home, Horizon Worlds, and Horizon Workrooms are three virtual locations in which individuals will be able to interact.
What is Horizon Home? Horizon Home is designed to allow you to design and modify your own personal area. In some ways, this will be the first point of entry into the metaverse. This initial point aspires to be a virtual home for people, with the ability to create a photorealistic or fantasy avatar and a virtual closet. People will be able to design a personalized house where they can invite their friends with Horizon Home.
What is Horizon Worlds? Horizon Worlds is a virtual environment that allows users to develop and invite friends over to have experiences that would be difficult to have in physical life.
What are Horizon Workrooms? Horizon Workrooms is designed to provide a gathering space for remote workers, allowing for collaborative work and fostering a sense of community. Horizon Workrooms is currently available for systems such as Oculus.

Presence- As previously stated, the immersive experience will be the metaverse's key distinction. It is designed to mimic the way we interact with others in real life, from our body motions to our unique facial expressions.
Avatars- Avatars will be how we display ourselves to the world in the metaverse. Those with photorealistic features will faithfully duplicate our physical or wonderful attributes, transforming us into anyone we choose to be.
A virtual residence- Each user will have their own private environment, which they can customize whatever they like, and which will serve as the entry point to other virtual experiences. It will also be possible to invite friends and family for meetings or celebrations, just as it is in houses.
Teleportation- The metaverse will allow us to teleport to other virtual worlds and move across gaming spaces, residences, work, concerts, and other virtual spaces, similar to how we may click on a link to get to another page.
Virtual Goods- The metaverse can include any content or things that can be digitized. Photos, art, music, literature, and games will be among the stuff you can have in your virtual home.
